I feel truly blessed to be able to review Storyland Yoga for you today. So many times, when a child is in front of the television, watching a DVD, they seem almost disconnected. The body is there, but the mind is far far away. It’s actually kind of spooky to me and for that reason, we discourage alot of TV viewing in the lost world.
Storyland Yoga is different though. Instructor, Ahmed Fahmy, engages children, right away, and imparts an eco friendly message leading them thru yoga poses that let them become fragile egg shells, a hissing snake and playful swimming porpoises. I think this encourages empathy and enables children to identify with the animals portrayed, helping form the framework for an ecologically responsible life. A thinking inquisitive mind and a healthy active body should be two of our goals for our children and Storyland Yoga, yoga for kids is a great tool for teaching both.
I think its a wonderful way to share with your toddler (or older child) and I encourage you moms to roll out your mats and participate too.
With Christmas coming up faster than I like to think, I believe Storyland Yoga would be a gift you could be proud of giving and one that wouldn’t gather dust on the shelf like so many other gifts will do. It gets a huge thumbs up from us, here in the lost world!
