Those who know me, or follow this blog, understand that finding sustainable, eco-friendly products to replace traditional products in my home is important to me. That’s why I made the switch from paper towels over 5 years ago.

That being said, there are still times that I long for the convenience (and disposability) of a paper towel. I mean seriously, no one really wants to clean up something truly nasty with a kitchen towel, right?

Recently, I was asked to review a great environmentally friendly product called Bambooee, from Paperless Kitchen.

Bambooee is a wonderful alternative to traditional paper towels. Made from sustainable bamboo fibers, Bambooee towels are soft, absorbant, reusuable and one roll of Bambooee towels is equal to 6 months worth of traditional paper towels!

What makes bamboo so great? Let’s take a look at a few reasons…

It grows up to four feet per day so it can be harvested every 4-5 years as opposed to the 25-70 years it can take for traditional hardwoods to mature.

It removes CO2 from the air and produces over 30% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees.

Below the ground, bamboo’s roots help prevent soil erosion.

Bamboo improves soil quality. The roots remove excess nitrogen and because the plant grows readily with no use of pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides, there is no ground pollution involved.

Using bamboo products in the home is a win/win!

For most uses, I simply rinse my bambooee towels in water and hang to dry, but I have thrown them into the washing machine, too. They’re very durable, I’ve actually only used 7 or 8 of them, so far and only a few are beginning to show wear. When they’ve outlived their usefulness, into the compost pile they’ll go. At $12.99 for a roll of 60, Bambooee is a truly affordable paper towel altenative!

They, along with lots of other wonderful products, can be purchased on the Paperless Kitchen website. You can connect with Paperless Kitchen on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest too!

The wonderful folks at Paperless Kitchen would like to introduce you to the joys and sustainability of bamboo, too, and are offering one of my readers a chance to win a roll of Bambooee Reuseable Towels like the one I was sent. Thank you so much!

Love the oots lunchbox and the people towels. Ive thought about going paperless several times but like you said, who wants to clean up something nasty with a towel…. Id love to try these out as it would be a great way to start. They are reusable and I love that and I’d save the worn out ones that were ready for compost to clean up those nasty messes…..lol.
