Who else loves Mexican inpired food? We’re big on it here in the lost world. In fact, we celebrate Taco Tuesday each week. We don’t necessarily eat tacos, but there’s always some Mexican yumminess on our menu every Tuesday.
Del Monte has added some oomph to its Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes making it just a bit easier to make those Taco nights extra special! The two new varieties include:

Del Monte® Petite Cut® Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies

Del Monte® Petite Cut® Diced Tomatoes with Chipotle Chilies
The new Del Monte Southwestern-Style Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes are the perfect way to spice up main dishes and snacking recipes. The majority of Del Monte products are picked at the peak of ripeness and canned on the same day, to ensure nutrients and flavor are locked in. Del Monte canned tomatoes, fruits and vegetables contain the same essential nutrients as fresh varieties.
To help inspire kitchen creativity Del Monte recently launched the “Del Monte Southwestern Tomato Kick-Off Sweepstakes,” on Pinterest which will give you a chance to share entertaining tips and recipes, featuring the new Del Monte Southwestern-Style Petite Cut® Diced Tomato varieties! One lucky winner will take home an exciting entertainment package including: a Sony® 55” LED TV, Bose® home theater system and Sony® Blu-ray player (ARV $4,779.00 USD).

I was feeling inspired by all the great recipes I found on the Del Monte Tomato Kick-Off Sweeps Pin Board so I decided to get a bit creative with a can of Del Monte® Petite Cut® Diced Tomatoes with Chipotle Chilies. I took the easy road and simply diced a package of Gardein Chick’n Scallopi (faux chicken) sauteed them in a bit of olive oil, added a can of rinsed and drained black beans and the can of diced tomatoes. I seasoned them with a little salt, pepper and cumin and served it over Jasmine Rice. Easy Peasy and took about 10 minutes! Talk about a no brainer and it was as yummy as could be. No leftovers here!
An easy way to use the new Del Monte® Petite Cut® Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies is to turn it into salsa. Simply add a diced onion, a diced green pepper and as much chopped cilantro as your family likes, cover it and let it rest in the fridge overnight. Break out the tortilla chips, your family will never know you started with canned ‘maters!
Del Monte would love to connect with you via their website, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter too!
Would you like to try both varieties of new Del Monte Southwestern-Style Petite Cut® Diced Tomato? The great folks at Del Monte would like that too and are generously offering one of my readers a chance to include a prize pack contain BOTH new varieties AND a $25 gift card to buy the ingredients for your favorite recipe! Thank you so much Del Monte!
