Thoughts on my master bedroom…

With my early spring cleaning blitz running full speed ahead, I’m looking at the master bedroom with a very critical eye. Last year I bought a gorgeous set of chocolate brown sheets and a duvet cover that I thought, at the time, were to die for. This morning, I looked at them again and thought, “eh”. I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

Before I know it, the closet will be done and I’ll be wanting to charge right on in to the bedroom, the only problem is now, I haven’t got a clue what I want to do with it all! Well, I actually DO have a clue, but I’m a fairly inept interior designer so things are usually a little hit or miss with me. I depend alot on websites like Damart UK, when I’m browsing for new ideas. Pinterest helps a lot too.

I know that a fresh coat of paint can make all the difference, but I want to take it a bit further. I want to go bold and do something I’ve never done before so I’m thinking about doing 3 really dark walls and one lighter accent wall. The color? Deep charcoal. My accent colors will be scarlet with little pops of pink. It all sounds really dramatic..and in my head, the picture is wonderful. Let’s just hope it translates that well in real time!

I found a big overstuffed recliner, not long ago, at a yard sale, that I’m planning to recover so I can turn one corner into a little reading nook for myself and after I add a few candles, I’m hoping that my little transformation will be a good one!

Wish me luck!
