KatKabin® DezRez – a safe snug hideaway for your kitty! review and #giveaway ends 2/18

Living in a rural setting has it’s definite advantages. For example, if I really want to, I can hang my laundry on the line dressed only in my underwear without fearing that anyone will see me and be struck blind at the sight. I can also offer a home to as many animals as my budget (and my husband) can stand.

Unfortunately, it has it’s drawbacks too…one of them being that we get quite a few ‘drop off’ animals. Thankfully we’ve been fairly successful in finding many of these poor orphans forever homes. We also have a fairly large population of feral and nearly feral cats that we have spayed/neutered/tipped when I can afford it. I feed these furkids every day too and worry if too many days go by without seeing familiar faces.

Thankfully, one of the things we don’t get a lot of in my part of Florida, is cold weather. On our few cold days, I worry about the ferals, though, and try to provide boxes, blankets and such so the braver ones can get out of the weather somewhat.

Recently, I was invited to review a great new product called a KatKabin® DezRez and it has proved it’s worth to me quite a few nights since it’s arrival in the lost world!

The KatKabin® DezRez – the most innovatively designed outdoor cat house on the market.

Safe, protective and secure, the KatKabin® gives your cats the freedom they need to spend time outdoors and peace of mind for you!

With overall dimensions of 21.5″ x 16″ x 13″ (55 x 40 x 32cm), the KatKabin® DezRez – is a luxurious outdoor house that will give your cat comfort and safety in your garden, patio or on the balcony but that’s equally at home in the house. It comes in array of attractive colors, to fit with any decor, and during the month of February they’re offering 20% off the pink and red KatKabins for February in honor of Valentine’s Day!

Designed to cope with outdoor conditions and standing above the ground, the sturdy KatKabin® DezRez withstands extreme temperatures and offers kitty a warm cushion to sleep on, air ventilation, a clip on/off door and a safe place to hide and relax.

We have a few of our older ferals, that over the years, have gotten bold enough to come up to the front porch to eat and snooze. I started by putting their food into the KatKabin® and in a few days, they were comfortable to enter under their own steam…no bribery needed. Just in time, too. We’ve just had several nights where our temps dipped into the 30s, but our wild ones were snug as bugs in a rug!

For my northern neighbors, KatKabin® has some great options for even colder weather like a super-soft insulated sleeve or a waterproof, low energy EcoGlow Pet Warming Pad which provides much needed warmth in frigid conditions. I like that!

They’ve recently introduced the new SkratchKabin™ designed to give your furkids a cozy place to hide and satisfy their need to scratch! Built to the same high standards as The KatKabin®, the SkratchKabin™ is available in 3 gorgeous colors and comes complete with a machine washable KatKushion, a FREE toy hanger and a FREE sisal mouse.

I LOVE this product, so do the kitties, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

Both KatKabin and SkratchKabin are available directly from the website and you can connect on Facebook and Twitter too!

The wonderful folks at KatKabin are generously offering one of my readers a chance to win their choice of either the KatKabin or SkratchKabin in the color you prefer! Thank you so much!

Ooh, this would be really useful for my cats! They are indoor/outdoor so this would be useful when they are caught out in the rain because we’re not there to let them in or are too lazy to, haha.

One of the ways I like to pamper my pets is to occasionally get them some wet food in fancy flavors. Just yesterday I gave them one that was flavored like Salmon and Shrimp… both of them really liked that! haha

I don’t have a cat myself, but I would love to win this for a friend of mine. She lives in the country, and has several feral cats that live on her property. She’s worked over the last few years to trap, neuter, and release them. She spends a lot of time around them, getting them to the point that they are comfortable enough around humans to accept food and even occasional handling for care (like brushing). While they’re were still kittens, she was able to interact with them enough that she was able to trap them and find them loving homes. When one was hit by a car, she paid for the vet care, to have his leg amputated, and he (and a sibling, so he’d be more comfortable with the transition) know live as indoor cats with her (and her two other cats). It’s taken a few years, close work with a wonderful group that does TNR, and a lot of her own money, but she’s gotten all the cats spayed and vaccinated, and found homes for those that were socialized enough. But there still are a few cats living outside. And while she feeds them and does the best she can to provide warm shelter on cold Upstate NY days, I know she’d love to have this KatKabin to help provide them a better shelter.

I have two kitties, one just showed up a few years ago. I believe he was part of a feral cat colony at some point because he is neutered and his ear is tattooed like they used to do to mark neutered cats in my area from the colonies…..he will not come inside and stay. He enjoys coming in the house but later claws the wall and cries demanding to go back out. I’d love to have one of these little hideaway houses to put on my covered porch or in the garage for him, which are both places he goes to sleep…. My second kitty is also a rescue but I found him as a newborn kitten discarded in a bank parking lot. Someone has already killed his sibling. He was old enough to crawl around but you could tell his eyes hadn’t been long open and he was definately still nursing age….I rescued him, bottle fed him and here he still lives and will for the rest of his life. He couldn’t be any more perfect. He’s a bit fat but hes one of those cats that lives for food….he loves being cuddled and held like a baby and he will sleep with you for hours. He enjoys sitting on the deck when it’s nice with the other rescue kitty but spends most of his time in the house. Neither one like toys at all, but they do like catnip and I’ve found several treats that they go nuts for, so treats are the primary way I spoil them…..and cuddling the one. The colony cat will sit in your lap but doesn’t like affection at all but he will head bump you affectionately if you have his favorite treats and he wants them! Thanks for the giveaway.
